Fourwinds Workshop

Just before christmas I spent five days teaching my first ceramic workshop at Ateliers Fourwinds Artcentre at the base of Les Alpilles in the south of France. Over the few days I shared some small scale slab rolling and building techniques, producing your own paper clay, and simple photography tricks for capturing finished sculptures. Primarily, I was aiming to showcase the versatility of clay, and encourage the creation of abstract, purely intuitive sculpture.

This workshop was made possible by Ursula Hanes (one of the founders of the art centre). I would also like to thank the current owners of Fourwinds, Sabine and Vianney Pinon, and Ursula's regular sculpture class for participating.
